In de jaren 70 behaalde Roger Hendriks een diploma met grote onderscheiding voor beeldhouwen aan de academie van Sint-Joost-ten-Noode.
Al vlug ondervond hij dat beeldhouwen niet zijn “cup of tea” was: geen derde dimensie, geen horizon, geen of weinig kleur, maar vooral geen fantasie mogelijk.
Hij volgde dan maar 8 jaar schilderkunst afdeling naaktmodel aan de academie van Leuven ( waarvan diploma).
Beroepshalve doorkruiste hij gedurende 32 jaar de wereld als lid van het vliegend personeel bij een luchtvaartmaatschappij. Overal bezocht hij de musea en het kunstgebeuren. Uit al die invloeden distilleerde hij tenslotte zijn eigen weg namelijk het surrealisme.
Hierbij staat het vrouwelijk schoon centraal. Zijn werken zijn meestal erotisch getint en humor of een vleugje cynisme zijn nooit ver weg.
Roger Hendriks is niet echt de persoon om zijn  eigen “marchandise” aan te prijzen, hij laat liever het oordeel over aan de toeschouwer.

In the seventies , Roger Hendriks obtained a degree with high distinction for sculpture at the academy of Sint-Joost of Brussels.
But sculpture was not really his cup of tea: no third dimension, no horizon, limited colors, but especially not much space for fantasy.
He started 8years of painting, section nude model at the academy of Leuven ( with degree).
On a professional level, Roger Hendriks crossed throughout the world as a crewmember of an airplane company. Everywhere he visited the museums and the cultural happenings. Of all these influences, he distilled his own way, surrealism where female beauty stands central.
The paintings are generally erotic with a background of humor or cynicism.
Roger Hendriks is not the kind of person to praise his own work, he prefers to leave the appreciation to the spectator.
